A pH meter is an electronic device used for measuring the pH (acidity or alkalinity) of a liquid (though special probes are sometimes used to measure the pH of semi-solid substances).
A typical pH meter consists of a special measuring probe (a glass electrode) connected to an electronic meter that measures and displays the pH reading.
Types of pH Meter:
pH meters come in a variety of forms, from straightforward, low-cost pen-like devices to sophisticated, high-priced lab instruments with computer interfaces and many inputs for temperature and indication readings to account for the little temperature-induced pH change.
There are specialty meters and probes for use in extreme environments, unique applications, etc. Additionally, there are holographic pH sensors that provide colorimetric pH measuring.
Types of pH Meter Electrodes:
- Glass Electrode pH meter
- Reference Electrode pH meter
- Combination Electrode pH meter
- ISFET
