3. Principle & Working of Empty Capsule Sorter – Step by Step
Most sorters work on Size & Vacuum Differentiation Principle + Gravity. Capsule cap and body have different length and diameter.
Step 1 – Loading: Bulk capsules loaded into infeed hopper with slow stirrer to avoid damage.
Step 2 – Primary Sorting / Rectifying: Capsules fall onto 2 rotating rectifying rollers with 3 gaps – Gap 1 = Loose cap (smallest), Gap 2 = Pre-locked good capsule (medium), Gap 3 = Loose body (largest) + defects.
